We are Celebrating Developmental Disability Awareness Month through Stories!!

Stories have the incredible, meaningful, and purposeful ability to build our confidence, expand our knowledge, and establish our autonomy, among many other things! As I work with this community, I continue to learn that those among us have both tremendous talents in Storytelling and in claiming ownership of their pride.

While my primary emphasis is on Dungeons & Dragons and creative play, I witness these talents every day. Our community helps to build cosmos, expand our understanding of magic and science, and has helped so many feel safe in our sensory-friendly spaces. It is always a gift to observe these fantastical worlds being built and to see the joy shared in doing so.

In seeing this joy, I witness wonders, healing, and the foundations of community and connection that will last decades. And in those foundations is also the spark and brilliance our community is so known for. Whether it is simple gameplay or more profound experiences, like honoring a voice, I would not trade these moments for anything.

So this month, I wish all the wonders I have seen, and perhaps kinder days that honor all lived subject matter experts.

March 1st is Zero Discrimination Day!!

"We all have bias, it is human, but we don't have to let them control us."

This is one of the greatest forms of advice I have ever been given. Today is a crucial day to remember that. While I don't remember who gave me this advice, it doesn't diminish the value of it, and I don't claim ownership.

However, on this important and meaningful day, I encourage us all, to step back, rethink our perspectives, and acknowledge that we can do better. We can be kinder, and we can carry ourselves with empathy in our work, actions, and words. While this is true we can also act with Kindness when we examine our bias, not to tear ourselves down, but to better understand who we are.

I also don't aim to tear down, but to encourage, to foster, and to uplift. As today we can carry ourselves with courage, we can be kinder to our neighbors, and we can grow in our missions. And today, we can become a more whole community.

While there is no perfect person, and there is no perfect community, we can work to carry sincere compassion for a brighter future.

And perhaps we can transition to acts of kindness that move inwards, build hope, and inspire hope.

Kindness is an act of this word that leaves more than it takes.

February 17th is Random Acts of Kindness Day.

This day is meant not to shine brighter than others or to bolster our pride, but to make the world simpler, more supportive, and more loving. While some may judge or mock your kindness, it still holds great value and deserves to be shared.

As important as kindness is, kindness in work and in mentorship is just as important. And kindness in storytelling is uniquely human, letting our radiant voices shine more freely.

As we go into this day dedicated to the raw, radiant, and sweet moments that make our world a bit better, please feel free to share this beauty with hope and in ways that most foster your love of kindness.

And I truly hope that you are gifted the wonderful moments you most need to be cherished.

To all those quietly alone, may you be able to chase the beauty in pride in your time.

Today is not just a day to celebrate love, but to honor the journey of understanding our solidarity in solitude. Sometimes there is nothing more beautiful than to sit alone and take pride in your presence alone. To chase the joy you bring yourself, and the worth in honoring your voice.

Creativity can help heal Trauma!

I will be presenting on "Breaking Norms Through Creativity-Based Empathy" at the Traumawise Workplace Summit.

I strongly believe that purpose-driven, empathetic programs can deliver a gentler, sustainable, and community-oriented option. This system meets people where they are, understands their needs better, and helps craft a stronger community.

I see every day how this mindset, rooted in creativity, serves those often deemed "disruptive, stubborn, or even unwanted" thrive, find their community, and their voice. So often, people forget to meet youth, teens, and adults where they are, and creativity allows that to happen and empowers them.

There is so much value in summits like this that understand trauma, highlight the value of creativity, and work to build a brighter future. While healing trauma is a long and important process, conversations like this can help speed up this process and deliver real value to those in need.

It was recently stated that "The Only Thing Stronger Than Hate is Love."

This Thursday is Disability Rights Advocacy Day, and this is our chance to act with love. This Thursday is a day to honor the disability advocacy movement and all the Wonderful, Wild, and Wise advocates who work continuously to benefit our communities.

This will also be a day to celebrate the beauty of our community, and to shine a light on our strengths. Every day, our world is made a bit brighter, a bit softer, and much more beautiful because of those who share their voices.

It is also important to note that disabilities do not lessen us; they do not see us as unworthy, and they do not validate the stigma and bias that those who don't understand inflict upon us. So as we get closer to this day, and move valiantly onwards after it, may we embrace our worth and shine ever brighter.

Hobbies are an act of care and purpose that we gift unto ourselves.

January is National Hobby Month!! In the wild winters, brutal cold, and solitude of this season, we celebrate an observance meant to facilitate knowledge, worth, and drive. National Hobby Month is a reminder that hobbies deserve our respect and bring us joy. They are the beautiful transition to our best selves.

As someone who started my career as a hobby and has made it my career, I cannot overstate the importance of hobbies. So often they start as simple, silly things and move towards career Contentment.

And yet, for those of us who hold the beauty of our hobbies simply for ourselves, I commend you. A hobby that belongs only to us is also a tremendous, radiant joy that deserves to be honored. In a world that demands transparency, these hobbies are our lifeline to our daily work efforts. And for that, they are essential.

Today, no matter what hobbies you seek, or your own desires for growth, we wish you all the luck you most need.

Mentorship that supports us genuinely heals hearts.

January is National Mentoring Month!!

As a community-driven, purposeful creative, I truly believe in the power of Mentorship. When done right, it inspires hope, bridges knowledge gaps, motivates, and drives success. However, at its core, it is not us as mentors that are the key success story, it is our mentees.

So often, those who work alongside are separated from what they need to succeed, due to bias, judgment, or even gaps in care. And yet so often what they need is a space to feel safe, to be understood, and to be listened to. As their success starts with genuine acceptance, and acceptance leads to empowerment. And in the end, we all deserve to live an empowered life, whether that resides in art, play, or whichever passion they most seek.

Additionally, kindness is key to supporting those in need. It is knowing that patience on hard days is a lifeline. It is knowing that there is beauty in an angry voice. It is knowing that communication can be hard, but being willing to listen is a grace few offer. And it is knowing that no one is a mistake based on their Lived Experience.

So this month, may we all be patient, kind, loving, and forgiving, not for the success of our business, or the prestige it can offer, but for the sake of those seeking their best life, and may we all be able to embrace the beauty of our journey, creative or otherwise.

Today is a day of utmost celebration!!

R&H Creative Advocacy and Storytelling LLC is officially 4 years old!! Today marks the beginning of my formal work in running sensory-friendly programs and launching my first projects for the Neuro Spicy Community!

This journey has been one of wonder, hardship, successes, and brilliant magic. Many people have joined me on this journey, and 2026 has begun with one of the strongest starts to any year. While there is still much work and time to be done, I am already joyously celebrating.

But I must also thank everyone who has joined me during sessions, listened to me ramble, and helped to craft a world of magic that honors all.

So genuinely, I thank you and can not understand the gratitude I feel!

May many more years of magic and wonder carry us all into greater serenity.

While 2025 has been a challenging year for many, it has also been a year that has reaffirmed the value of goodness in work. That the value and heart of my job is greatly appreciated, and that is only supported by the wonderful and kind people I have met this year.

Today is a day meant to be communal!

Whether or not you celebrate, or you feel conflict, or simply need to rest, that doesn't diminish this day's purpose of joy. And it doesn't diminish its ability to bring quiet joy.

I know that for many, this can be a day of pain, and I, myself, included, but I encourage you to embrace its healing power as well.

While we may sit in silence or be surrounded by those we love, today's most actual magic comes from the spark of light, love, and simple joy.

This is a day to ultimately reflect on the wonder of this season, from the gleam of the sun to the wonder of a well-thought-out gift to something more spiritual. All of it is magic waiting to be found.

So today, no matter our true intentions or purpose, may we spread that magic, that wonder, that peace, and give the gift of love to ourselves and those around us. I know it may be harder than it should be from time to time, but only elevates it's purpose.
