Heal Your Spirit- Self Care Awareness Month
Self-care is a gift to our future, spirit, and community.
September is Self-Care Awareness Month. This is the month to reflect on our worth and the power of our voices and to care for ourselves as we would others.
Despite the narrative arguing against this, we all deserve to step back, comfort ourselves, and gently honor ourselves. So often, we are the warriors fighting for others, the advocates championing better care for the community, or even the battle-tested workers dealing with an onslaught of complaints. Yet, this is exactly why we must heal, rest, and recover.
It is your time to chase that exact opportunity, to be present in the joy of tea, a fluffy sweater, or even a day of solitude, as there is no shame in seeking comfort.
It is my hope that no matter where your battleground, or cavern of worry, or humble, hectic schedule, you may find the peace, the heart, the home where you can celebrate yourself this month and always. If only for a moment, a minute, or an hour, may it become yours.

Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day
August 28 is Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day!!
This day is meant to reflect on, honor, and hold true the memories of pets and family members we have lost.
While it may seem minor or insignificant, I urge you to change that mindset. Pets are often not just fur babies we love; they are the truest of connections. They are warriors helping us in the community, protectors in times of fear and worry, and ultimately mental health companions that cause us to better take care of our own health.
While no pet should only be remembered one day a week, or reduced to only being significant on special days, may this day offer healing. As I am sure the pain and sadness like this can bring, it can also offer a sense of closure and reconciliation.
So today, in honor of the fluffy, scaly, spikey, or even temporary pets we had, let us all move forward with the strength they wanted us to have. May our hearts heal a little more in the true memory of these friends.

Disability Pride Month Celebration
July is Disability Pride Month!!
The Disability Community is often ignored, left behind, forgotten, and judged. However, this community is built by strong, mindful, and creative individuals who work hard each day to make our neighborhood, workplaces, and schools more valuable.
Each member of this great community also adds a beautiful and distinct voice that, when shared, adds valuable insight and wisdom to the world. While it can be easy to ignore those voices, sometimes it is far too easy, and those speaking up do not give up. They fight, struggle, share, and advocate as warriors.
So this month and always, let us all take the time to honor this community, to listen better, and to fight for the rights of this community. May we all learn, grow our understanding, and act with genuine empathy. This work should not end after July, but be carried further into a brighter future.

This event was filled with laughter, joy, and truly heartfelt moments, during which youth and adults alike felt supported and valued.

Guiding Bright Minds Resource Fair
The Colorado Community Truly Cares!
This Saturday, I attended the Guiding Bright Minds Resource Fair, working for Colorado APSE to spread the word on the Employment First Movement.
If you do not know, the Employment First Movement is dedicated to Equitable, Purposeful, Sustainable, and Passionate work for all, no matter their lived experience. I deeply believe in this cause.
I also met many wonderful new organizations, returning friends, and future community partners. Each person had a truly amazing spark and a genuinely kind heart.
The Colorado Community Truly values those who seek to help those in need and truly values the continuation of progress within community services. I am so proud to witness the evolution of community services and see new people fighting for those in need daily.
