Reading is a Gift and A Privilege.

March is National Reading Month, and as such, we get to celebrate the written or digital word! Reading transports us to new worlds, builds our knowledge, and bolsters our imagination. And, undeniably, it is a gift that connects us through our shared passions, emotions, and hopes.

Yet not everyone has equal access, and some of us do not have the ability to read. This doesn't lessen us or reduce us to unworthy. As for many, it is not a refusal but an inability, either biological or due to injury.

Because of this, may we all take time to honor the joy that is reading in any way we can, embrace the beauty writers have crafted, and celebrate our journey with these words in any way we can, as accessibility techniques such audiobooks, braille , or being read to deserve to be celebrated for their accessibility and their power to serve those unable to read.

So today, I hope you can settle in, explore the world of books however you like, and celebrate the joy within.
